Daher introduced the TBM 940, a new version of its single-engine turboprop aircraft, at the Safety Seminar meeting of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association on Thursday. As shown in the video below, features new to the 940 model include auto-throttle, increased automation for the deicing system and a redesigned interior. According to Daher, the TBM 940 will be succeeding the TBM 930 as the company's upper-end TBM product and "retains the same range and handling qualities" as other aircraft in the TBM 900 series.
"The TBM 940 redefines the ultimate private aircraft: user-friendly, safe and efficient for both pilots and passengers," said Daher Airplane Business Unit Senior Vice President Nicolas Chabbert. "This newest TBM family member underscores our firm commitment to constant improvement for the ownership and operational experience with our very fast turboprop aircraft."
Like the 930, the TBM 940 is equipped with the Garmin G3000 flight deck and powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D turboprop engine. It seats six, and has a top cruise speed of 330 KTAS and a maximum range of 1,730 NM. Daher says it expects to receive EASA and FAA certification for the aircraft next month at Aero Friedrichshafen 2019.
