L-3 Aviation Products (L-3 AP) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week in celebration of the opening of its new MRO (Manufacturing, Repair & Overhaul) facility in Bengaluru, India. Aspen Avionics announced it has received Federal Aviation Administration approval for the ATX100G transceiver. Deliveries begin immediately. Aspen's single-band ATX100G is compatible with Aspen Evolution primary flight displays (PFDs) and multi-function displays (MFDs). Aspen's ADS-B products utilize either a single, bottom-mounted antenna or a diversity antenna system with top- and bottom-mounted antennas for optimum traffic detection.

Avlite Systems announced the release of the solar LED Elevated Runway Guard Light ERGL. The solar LED Elevated Runway Guard Light is a unidirectional, yellow, alternately flashing fixture that provides a warning to pilots and vehicles that they are approaching an active runway. The solar ERGL installs in minutes with no trenching, cabling, or mains power required, and can be easily and quickly relocated.The Flying Musicians Association announced the creation of the FMA Solo Scholarship Award program. The lucky recipients will receive scholarships that will pay for their primary flight training, through their first solo. In cooperation with FMA's corporate members and sponsors nationwide, this program will fund four scholarships to juniors or seniors in high school who have been nominated by their band/music director.
