While I agree that in some circumstances a plane can land safely (minus the engine) during good visibility and when you are lucky enough to actually be within gliding distance of a place to put it down. But, to all you parachute naysayers, you are flying in a rural, forested area, at night, no reference points to see, and you lose your engine (and there are tons of other examples). Hmmmm, I’ll pull the chute and live, and you will not. Case closed.
