Picture of the Week

Submit a Photo |Rules |Tips |Questions |Past Winners

Each week, we go through dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of reader-submitted photos and pick the very best to share with you on Thursday mornings. The top photos are featured on AVweb’s home page, and one photo that stands above the others is awarded an AVweb baseball cap as our “Picture of the Week.”

Want to see your photos featured?Submit them here!

A quick note for submitters: If you’ve got severalphotos that you feel are “POTW” material, your best bet is to submitthem one-a-week! That gives your photos a greater chance of seeingprint on AVweb, and it makes the selection process a little easier onus, too. 😉

Given the sudden chill many pilots are feeling, it’s nosurprise that a common theme in this week’s submissions is ice – andplenty of it!

Third Blade?

Frequent “POTW” contributorDon Parsons of St. Peters, Missourisubmitted our favorite icy photo this week. “We had a freezingrain ice storm Friday night,” writes Don. “When it started warmingup Sunday morning, the blade warmed up enough for the ice to slide offit. It was still attached to the spinner, however, leaving this’ice blade.'”

We’ve seen some fantastic pictures from Don over the last year or so,and it gives us great pleasure to finally be able to send him anofficial AVweb baseball cap as this week’s “POTW” winner! Thanksfor persisting, Don – and keep sending those photos!

(Picture submissions have slacked off a little in the wake of allthese holidays. If you’d like to give ’em a boost, submit your photos here – and besure to check out more than a dozen bonus photos in the “POTW” slideshowon AVweb.com.)

Patty Wagstaff Did It Again!

Well, O.K. – to be perfectly honest, we could probably rename thisfeature the “Patty Wagstaff Picture of the Week” and not have to repeatourselves for over a year. But that doesn’t mean we can’t oohand ahh over new Patty photos that find their way into our inbox! Most all of them make us flinch, and more than a couple make us askwhether or not they’ve bee turned upside down – but this one, from theincredible Stig Ohlsson of Orlando,Florida, made us grin from ear to ear.
