"Race You Back to the Starting Line?"
As a pilot, [I] found the AOA interesting. I am in the picture, closest to the ground.

Sunset Start
Taken just before starting the engines for another long night flight. I was already seated when I saw the reflection of the sun on the blades and had to leave the CP and go out to take a picture. The picture was taken using my iPhone, so there is visible grain, which gives it, in my humble opinion, an interesting feel. Other then removing the heli's registration [number], nothing was changed.

Supervising Dad Washing the Plane
One of our customers - Edmondo Penazzi of So Paulo, Brazil - sent us this great photo of him washing the bugs off his Zenith STOL CH 750 light sport utility kitplane as his son, Enrico, looks on.

BRS Deployment
In-flight engine failure and BRS deployment. Pilot walked away O.K.

Running Through the Checklist
Hughes 500, getting ready to take off. Taken in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

A Tale of Two Sopwiths
Sopwith Camel (piloted by Gene de Marco) waits to taxi behind a Sopwith Snipe during the Armistice Day air show held at Hood Aerodrome (NZMS) in New Zealand, 2011. Sony Cybershot W110.

Rallyes at Rest
Photo taken at High Valley Airpark in Suches, Georgia during a day of mountain flying in the Smokies. Canon Powershot SX230; no mods except for file size.

"B1-RD, Short Final, Full Stop"
Hummingbird (model B1-RD) coming in for a landing on a sugar water feeder. (Nikon D90; cropped for size and composition.)

T-28 on Veterans Day (Waco, TX)
Old Glory and T-28 proudly flying over the ALICO building during the Veterans' Day parade in downtown Waco, Texas. Not edited; Samsung Rugby mobile phone.

This is our Cessna 170B parked at the Mexican Mountain air strip in the San Rafael Swell of Utah.

ILS to Runway 12 at KOFF
Shot from the catwalk of the control tower at Offutt Air Force Base. RC-135 on ILS approach to Runway 12. Sony SLT-A55 ISO 100, F32, 390-second exposure. Resized in Photoshop; no other modifications.

Carolina Sunrise
This is straight from the camera, except reduced to be less than 1MB. It sure looks better in the 1.56MB original size. Taken November 13, 2011 at KGYH.

Busy Ramp at Lebanon/Warren County Airport, Ohio (I68)
The Lebanon High School marching band hosted a pancake fund-raising breakfast at Lebanon/Warren County (I68), Ohio on a beautiful Saturday in July 2011. After the event, the ramp was pretty busy. Kodak Easyshare DX6490. As shot.

Golden
Glorious end to a beautiful fall day on the east coast. Flight home to Manassas, Virginia from Georgetown, Delaware.

Sikorsky Raider Full-Size Mock-Up
Photo of Sikorsky's Raider concept mockup. It was next to their X2, which broke the 250-kt. helicopter speed record. This was the only photo I got that day that didn't have somebody standing in front of either the Raider or the X2. Taken at the Stuart (Florida) air show on Veterans Day weekend, 2011.

Luscombe Fall at Hanna Rheas
Taken at Todd Given's grass fall paradise called Hanna Rheas.
Ed. Note: We've checked several times, but if the attribution on this photo ends up claiming that's a Lacomba sent in by Ralph Luscombe, that is incorrect.
Ed. Note to Ed. Note: Ye old "POTW" editor still managed to mistype it first time around! Thanks to readers Roger Baker and Buck Wyndham for pointing out the shoddy typing job in good spirits.

Salmon Fishing in Alaska
Popular salmon fishing strip about 100 miles west of Anchorage. 700 feet long. Several Super Cubs, two PA-12s, and one straight-tail C-172 on big tires. Better fishing spot was a half mile away, but only 300 feet [of it were] usable. Two Super Cubs there. My brother said flying in Alaska is not the same as the lower 48, and now I believe him.
