Cessna Upgrades Caravan Interiors

Cessna unveiled a new interior for its Caravan single-engine turboprops at Sun ‘n Fun today. The biggest change is the introduction of new seats that are about five pounds lighter than the previous design, with more room for under-seat stowage, an improved back angle for more comfort, and better sight lines in relation to the cabin windows. The seats also have a stain-resistant, antimicrobial coating, and optional headrests. Added to other changes in the interior fittings, the new Caravans gain about 60 pounds in weight reduction. The new designs also enable Cessna to offer more seating options, including the new option of club seating in the Grand Caravan EX.

“We have a number of operators who are thrilled to have the option of club seating, which is a huge benefit for companies offering VIP transportation and special mission operations,” said Christi Tannahill, Cessna’s senior vice president for turboprop interior design.”Customers can now choose their specific seating configuration based on their specific mission requirements and country of registry regulations.” The Caravan is available in four models: the Caravan, the Grand Caravan EX, the Caravan Amphibian and the Grand Caravan EX Amphibian. A Grand Caravan EX featuring the new interior is on static display all this week during Sun ‘n Fun in Lakeland, Florida.
