The Weekender: Campouts Galore

The Weekender kicks off camping season with some fly-in tent trips found on SocialFlight.On Saturday, there’s the annual all-you-can-eat breakfast fly-in at Ojibwa Airpark (D11), just northwest of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Pilots eat free, and french toast is back on the menu. The field will be open to campers the night before.The annual Colorado BackCountry Fly-In at La Garita Creek Ranch will take place Friday through Sunday in the San Luis Valley. Cabins and tent sites are available along with catered food at La Garita Creek Ranch. Join the fly-out to Hooper Sand Dunes Pool for a Saturday lunch and a soak.

For a weekend of “Tail Dragger Heaven,” the National Biplane Fly-In welcomes aircraft and pilots of all types Thursday through Sunday at Freeman Field in Junction City, Kansas. The event is hosted by EAA Chapter 1364. Choose from three runways, two of them turf, and camp by your aircraft.On Sunday, all are invited to Van Sant Airport in Erwinna, Pennsylvania, for the day.
