Textron Shows Revived T182, Announces Upgrades

Textron has shown off its refreshed T182 turbocharged model. In a news release from Sun ‘n Fun 2024, the company said the T182, like the 172, 206 and T206, has received interior facelifts and the first deliveries of the aircraft have occurred. Production of the T182 was paused in 2013 and Textron announced its revival in 2022. “Textron Aviation’s investment in the Cessna piston aircraft lineup demonstrates the company’s continued enthusiasm and support for pilots worldwide, whether they are pursuing training ambitions or planning their next adventure,” the news release said.

The upgrades announced include new seats, power headset jacks at every seat, USB-A and -C charging ports at every seat, along with side and cellphone pockets throughout the aircraft. There is also integrated overhead air conditioning on aircraft with that option and a new center armrest available on certain models.

  1. “a new center armrest available on certain models.”

Wow! Cessna does it again, investing into serious upgrades for their SE fleet!

  2. Yes, but does it have Cessna’s “Land-O-Matic” landing gear that my 1968 172 has? If not, I’ll pass.

  3. Very nice to see Textron making Cessna investments. The new interior looks terrific and the small upgrades some people are ridiculing are very helpful to better pace with modern life.

    3 cheers to Textron!

  4. I have many skydives out of the conventional 182. Turbocharged would be better but the price would probably be way out for those DZ operators who could use it. Glad to see that Textron and Cessna have updated a great aircraft.

  5. WOW! I missed above where a 182T was 900+. A 210 would likely be 40% more.

I’d rather have a house in Paso Robles.

  6. As the owner of a “vintage” Cessna, I’m just glad there still IS a Cessna Aircraft Corp. I’d be happier if they still made certain critical parts for my plane, but I’ll do the best I can. Can’t see me living long enough to afford a new Skylane tho’.
