Penn Yan Aero announced that it had upgraded and extended its warrantyon its overhauled engines to 100% parts and labor for three years or to Lycoming's or Continental's maximum recommended time between overhaul (TBO), whichever comes first. The Penn Yan Aero overhauled engine warranty is supported worldwide and is transferable from one owner to another. In another report on the engine front, Diamond Aircraft Austria is offering Centurion 2.0 engine upgrades to DA42 TDI owners and operators. Centurion 2.0 engines are included in the existing DA42 type certificate, offering TDI owners and operators the possibility to upgrade from their 135 HP Centurion 1.7 and 2.0 engines, up to a 155 HP 2.0s.
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a letter of operational suitability to Jeppesen confirming the form and functionality of iPad mini for use in the cockpit when paired with Jeppesen's electronic flight bag (EFB) solutions. Jeppesen worked with the FAAs Seattle Aircraft Evaluation Group (AEG) to evaluate the usability of Jeppesen charts and enroute map on iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display. Finally, Ack Emma LLC of Danbury, Conn., announced that it had received FAA approval for installation of its lightweight CYA-100 Angle of Attack Display system in certificated aircraft.
