Wow, independent 3-phase windings on a PM motor. Imagine a petrol engine with independent pistons, or better yet an independent drive train from start to finish; you could potentially get twin-engine reliability in singles with this. I'm not totally sold on electric aircraft (yet), but the technology opens up some interesting possibilities.
