My 4 year old has been flying with me since he was 11 months old. He's as comfortable in and around airplanes as he is anywhere. He was taking a nap in the back seat during my IFR checkride. Photo by Robert Murray.
PICTURE OF THE WEEK: Early Exposure![Revenue Planes After A Hard Day](https://www.avweb.com/uploads/2019/06/Revenue-Planes-After-A-Hard-Day-630x420.jpg)
This photo was taken last winter showing working planes parked at Tracy, CA (KTCY) after a difficult IFR day in the California central valley. Shot using a Nikon D3300, 50mm, 1/10, F10. The high dynamic range of the scene rendered an image out of the camera that didn't represent what was seen by the eye. Lifting shadows, enhancing local contrast in the foreground and removing an unnatural tint from the lights resulted in a screen image that was very close to my visual perception. Post processing done in 'darktable' open-source software. Photo by Kim Hunter.

Remembering Amelia Earhart who disappeared July 2, 1937. This picture was taken by my Uncle Dan E. Mueller, now deceased, at Union Air Terminal, Burbank on 3-7-1937. It shows the tail of Earhart's NR 16020 with Louise Thaden's Beech Staggerwing in background. Photo submitted by Don E. Mueller.
