Living Legend Ken Wallis MBE: 95 and Still Flying
Taken at Wing Commander Wallis's home in England. 95 and still flying his gyro-copters. Made famous in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice. Learn more about Wallis at his web site.

Nostalgia
My grandfather (right) with his 1947 Aeronca 11AC Chief. Scanned from original print and resized for submission.
Ed. Note: We love a good vintage photo and haven't seen many lately. If anyone else out there wants to share, we'd love to see 'em!

KBOS 15R
Boston's Logan and Harbor on New Year's Day, looking down 15R from 1,500 feet.
Taken with Canon digital SLR; un-retouched.

C-46 The Tinker Belle
This is a high dynamic range shot of the C-46 nicknamed The Tinker Belle. This aircraft was purchased by the city of Monroe, North Carolina. I have more shots of this aircraft (and many more) at HDRRides.com.

SR-71 Head-On
Taken at the Udvar-Hazy Museum in DC in 2005.
Used an Olympus E-300 digital SLR. Cropped to center and re-sized for upload

Rhino and Scooter
An A-4 "Scooter" flies formation on an F-4 "Rhino" during AirVenture 2010. The F-4's official name was the Phantom II, but most F-4 pilots called the airplane "Rhino" or "Double Ugly." The A-4 was officially the Skyhawk, but its pilots called it "Scooter" because of its small size and agility.
Nikon D90. Cropped for composition.

C-130 Over the Wire on Final
Canadian C-130 landing at the Windsor, Ontario Airport (YQG) with the Detroit RenCen in the background.
Only cropped and lightened.

Perspective
I don't know if it's a requirement that P-51 prop blades be set as shown, but align a bunch in a field (as here at AirVenture 2011), and some interesting geometric perspective results if you're in the right place. They seem to go forever (Will they?)
Shot just after a rain storm with a 28mm lens on my old Konica-Minolta; cropped and enhanced in Photoshop to lessen the gloomy lighting.
Ed. Note: Got two desktop monitors? Make this your wallpaper and stretch it across both monitors for a real treat!

Towplane Landing in the Qs
Taken during my soaring club's annual sailplane "safari" from Chicago to Crandon, Wisconsin. This is half vacation and half exploration. The 172 was our towplane for this trip.
Taken with a Canon SX30is.

Short Base to Final
A still from a 720p video. Corrected for contrast and color.
Camera was a GoPro HD Hero. Taken at KCGZ; 270-degree power-off approach.

Me Want to Look at That Plane!
Looking at "POTW" with my son Nathan, all I hear is, "Me want to look at that plane!" and "I want to hear that plane, daddy!"
Ed. Note: That's pretty much what it's like here too, fellas!

Sunset at CYFD Brantford
Sunset at touchdown. CYFD, January 6, 2012. In a C-172RG.
