NASA has announced plans to commission a new study examining “observations of events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena.” According to the agency, the unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) study will focus on identifying available data, the best methods of collecting future data and how NASA can use that data to further its scientific understanding of UAPs. NASA estimates the study will last around nine months.
“The limited number of observations of UAPs currently makes it difficult to draw scientific conclusions about the nature of such events,” NASA said. “Unidentified phenomena in the atmosphere are of interest for both national security and air safety. Establishing which events are natural provides a key first step to identifying or mitigating such phenomena, which aligns with one of NASA’s goals to ensure the safety of aircraft.”
NASA Science Mission Directorate assistant deputy associate administrator for research Daniel Evans will be responsible for organizing the study. The independent study team will be led by Simons Foundation president and astrophysicist David Spergel. NASA noted that it is not part of the Department of Defense’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force or Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group.
I’d like to know what this was: The evening before the Solar Eclipse in Chile (2019), while camped out on Mamalluca, next to the Observatory there, I saw what I first thought was a satellite streaking across the sky, west to east, reflecting the sun from over the horizon. Except that, when overhead, it made a sharp 45 degree turn to the NE.
It was too fast for an air carrier. And it didn’t make sense for an air carrier to fly to the coast from over the ocean, only to head off toward northern Argentina in a markedly different direction. An aircraft (or spacecraft) to be sure – although I don’t know why any Military would be doing recon over the middle of nowhere Chile, on to the middle of nowhere Argentina.
Never heard of a flying aircraft carrier. Are you sure?

Unless you have lived under a rock, that gun camera video we all have seen hundreds of times, has no hard evidence that “That Video” is real.

I’ve no reason to believe the video is not real. Note how as the aircraft turns the object is incredibly stable in its position in the frame of the video. And as the aircraft rolls how the object rolls at the exact same rate and remains stable in its position in the frame of the video. A bit of dust on the camera lens would explain what is seen in the video. Anyone know of any evidence that suggests what is seen is not a bit of dust on the camera lens?
Flying an aircraft in a turn, tracking an object WITH ZERO deviation seems impossible to me.

You would be the best person to join this committee so the UFO/UAP rumors and conspiracies can finally be put to rest. Hollywood is mostly to blame because they keep making multi-billion dollar movie franchises about other life forms in the universe. Star Trek, Star Wars, X-Files and so many others just to make lots of money.
This is low on my anxiety list.
Although not directly referenced in The Word, the Bible does not prohibit the concept that God has created life elsewhere.

Well, since the conversation went into extraterrestrials: From a purely secular viewpoint, we humans have a lot of hubris thinking that, out of the 200 billion stars in our own galaxy, with its 3200 known-to-us planets so far, any civilization so technologically advanced to get from there to here and deal with our atmosphere, ionopshere, etc. would have any interest in us. (What could they possibly learn? (Except how to kill.) What would be in it for them?)
I’m sure we’re seeing Military stuff that, like the SR-71 in 1956, would blow our minds if revealed to us today. (An acquaintance near White Sands Restricted reports the Triangle Aircraft flying silently with glowing auroras out the “tail pipe.”)
On my Chile sighting, I’m gonna guess that we’re watching what the Chinese are building in South America.
Come on man, everyone knows there are only two things that explain all of this as has been the case as we were told by the authorities since the 1940s – swamp gas and weather balloons.
It will be interesting not that we will ever know, what kind of cooperation will occur among NASA, the military, CIA etc. For years there have been repeated blackouts instant disruptions of signals, hidden conversations and photos from astronauts all controlled and directed by NASA. Are they now going to come clean and release all those strange UFO things now? Probably not!
When you give the job to an assistant, deputy, associate administrator, that tells you how far down the food chain this study has been dumped. I don’t expect we will see much, if anything new out of this “investigation”. With all the other major issues facing the country today, from school shootings to runaway inflation, a renewed interest in investigating UFO sightings sounds like classic Washington misdirection to distract the public from the miserable job our politicians are doing.
