Longtime Airbus manager Romain Trapp will succeed Chris Emerson as president of Airbus Helicopters Inc. and head of the company’s North America Region for helicopters. Emerson is heading over as president of Airbus Defense and Space Inc.
“Romain brings a keen understanding of the North American helicopter market, and I could not think of anyone better suited to take on this role than someone who has led such a diverse range of our U.S. and Canadian activities for so long,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “I am confident he will continue to support our customers and grow our business in the world’s largest in-service helicopter market.”

Trapp has been with Airbus for nearly 20 years, 11 of which in North America. He was CFO of Airbus Helicopters in Grand Prairie, Texas, starting in 2008, then COO in 2016. If that weren’t enough, Trapp has been president of Airbus Helicopters Canada since 2013.
